Sorry Goldsmith fans but I really didn't like this score at all. The cacophonous exotic percussion and the feeling that the music is out of control a lot of the time does not do much for me. I don't remember the main theme or love theme at all, even after repeated listenings. The action sequences are good, aggressive pounding percussion make them thrilling but not overly listenable. It has been compared as the "superior" predecessor to First Knight, however even if it is musically better, I vastly prefer First Knight. The themes in that are more instantly recognisable: the action cues are just as good, but First Knight lacks the ethnic percussion and to my mind sounds better for it. At least this has no synths in it, which is a great bonus and the orchestral writing is solid, this is simply a case of something I dislike rather than don't think is any good. I would recommend First Knight instead.
